Finance Committee Meeting
Joint Meeting with Capital Improvements Committee
Town of Bellingham – Municipal Center

Monday, January 14, 2013 7:00pm



1. FinCom Present: J. Collamati (Chairman), J. Allam, J. Cibelli, P. DeGenring, R. Szczepan,
                               K. Quinn
    
2. FinCom Absent: (one open FinCom seat)

3. At 7:00 PM, a joint meeting of the FinCom and Capital Improvements Committee was called to
    order by Chairmen Collamati and Lavallee respectively.

4. A discussion and vote was held regarding the allocation of funds to cover overspending within   
    the snow and ice removal budget. No dollar amount was requested by DPW Director Don
    DiMartino to cover the shortfall at this time, as there is no way to ascertain what will be required to
    get through the rest of the winter. A motion was allow the DPW to spend beyond the FY 2013
    budgeted amount for snow and ice removal.

5. DPW Director Don DiMartino presented updates on the town-wide water and roads project, as well
   as capital needs. Discussion ensued regarding which articles may be placed on the May warrant and
    which may be placed on the October warrant.

6. Fire Chief Gentile presented current grant award for SCBA apparatus.

7. A joint discussion took place between the CIC and FinCom regarding FY 2014 capital needs and
    five-year plan. Discussion to continue.

8. A motion was made to adjourn the joint meeting.
